Obituary for Ross A. Keffer

Ross A. Keffer
Ross A. Keffer, 90, of St. Albans, died peacefully in his sleep October 22 in assisted living in Winter Haven, FL. He is survived by his son Mark Keffer (Beth, Atlanta, GA), their children Paige, Ross (Olivia) and Blair, by his daughter Sarah Wilmoth (Bob, Davenport, FL), their daughters Carrie Stegelmeyer (John), and Martha Holder (Karl), great-grandchildren Sophia, Conor, Keira and Sean Holder, his sister Norma Sullivan of Hinton, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Pattie, and nine brothers and sisters. Ross was born and raised in Hinton, WV. He served as a Navy Corpsman in World War II, deployed with the First Marine Division in the South Pacific. He had a long career with Union Carbide. He was a longtime Deacon at First Baptist Church of St. Albans. Ross donated his body to medical research. There will be a memorial service in St. Albans at a date to be determined. Donations in his memory can be made to First Baptist Church, Sixth Ave. and 2nd Street, St. Albans, WV 25177. In his retirement, Ross could be found most days golfing at Riviera Country Club. The family hopes his departed brothers, nephews and golfing buddies had heavenly tee times ready for him, and they are all keeping it in the short grass.
