Berta C. Simmons, 100 of Gotha, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Ocoee Healthcare in Ocoee, FL with her loving family by her side.

Berta was born on March 13, 1917 in Tifton, GA, the daughter of the late Cicero Coburn and Frankie Coburn. Berta was the loving wife to the late Richard W. Johnson and the late Warren Simmons.

Berta was a homemaker, loving mother, wife, sister, and friend. Berta loved the outdoors; she enjoyed caring for her flowers and gardening. She loved camping and fishing, and her family enjoyed many of the beautiful Florida lakes. She had a strong faith and was an example to many of God’s grace, compassion, and love.

She is survived by one son, Richard Keith Johnson, and wife Donna of Gotha, Florida. She is predeceased by her two brothers: Ernest Coburn and Lester Coburn.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Winter Oak Funeral Home, 1132 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL 34787 with Burial immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL.
