Obituary for Helen "MeeMaw" Heiney

Helen C. Heiney - "Meemaw" - "Bessie" - "Sister" died peacefully at her home in Zellwood, FL on September 22, 2018, at the age of 85.

She is survived by her children, Robin L. Wise (Dale), Jennifer L. Bowman, Susan L. Pelaquin (Russell), Wesley N. (Bucky) Heiney (Patty Uddo). Her Grandchildren Christopher Wise (Natalie), Cari Salalac (Rodi), John W. Tibbs (Kimberly), Kelley L. Manning (David), Shanda Munns (Jordan) and Joey Uddo. Great Grandchildren Ava L. Tibbs, Marley J. Wise, Peyton L. Tibbs, Sophia B. Munns, Pearl R. Munns, Cordelia J. Salalac, Victoria C. Wise, Ila P. Munns, Crew J. Munns and Joseph A. Wise, Joseph Uddo V, Torrance Blackshear and Tyana Kinser. Sisters Peggy Steele, Patty Rose, Marilyn Millhoan, Jane Wimer, Bonny Fraley and her Brother William T. Young. She is preceded in death by Father William T. (Pappy) Young, Mother Beulah M. (Mammy) McConnell, Daughter Jody L. Tibbs and Granddaughter Sandra E. Pelaquin.

Helen was born January 29, 1933 in Hammondsville, Ohio. She graduated from Irondale High School in 1951.
The family moved to Orlando, FL in 1969. Helen began working for Eckerd Drugs in 1973 and retired from there in 1998. After her retirement Helen traveled for leisure for several years and went back to school for her Home Health Certification and continued to care for several elderly patients before fully retiring in Zellwood Station to be a full time Grandmother ,Great Grandmother and friend to her new neighbors.

Her funeral is scheduled for October 6th at 10:30 AM at the Zellwood United Methodist Church at 5338 Jones Avenue, Zellwood, FL 32798 with a reception to follow immediately at the Church Fellowship Hall. Pastor Nadine Richmond will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Helen's life. In lieu of Flowers the family is requesting a donation to Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit at Quality Health Care 12751 W. Colonial Drive Winter Garden, FL 34787.

The family would like to personally thank Team #190 at Vitas for their incredible care, love and support of both Mom and the family. Her final weeks and days and ultimately her journey home was made effortless with their compassion and caring.
