Obituary for Cynthia Thorpe

Cynthia Joyce Sterling-Thorpe, 84, of Orlando, Florida passed away on November 24, 2018.

Cynthia was born on July 15, 1934 in St Thomas, Jamaica to the late Victor Sterling and Cora Harris. She attended Willow-field Secondary school. Cynthia migrated to England in 1961 where she lived for many years. She ventured to the United States where she lived and worked as a Nurse's Aide in New York. Upon her retirement in the early 2000's Cynthia relocated to Orlando, FL. She became a very active member of her church; The Solid Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church where she served as a member of the Choir and was a Deaconess. Cynthia was also a very active and involved member of the Pine Hills Senior Center; her contribution of time, talent and treasures for 11 years helped to build the centers fellowship and membership.

She is survived by her only child, daughter Louise Hyacinth Webber, 5 biological grandchildren Rocliffe, Royston, Lincoln, Lindon & Carolee Smiley and 3 extended grand’s, Darren & Kimberly Thomas / and Nicholas. Also, 14 Great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and other family members and close friends too many to mention.

The Family will be receiving family and friends for a visitation on Wednesday December 12, 2018 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. at Winter Oak Funeral Home, 1132 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL. A Service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 am, at Solid Rock Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4955 Rose Avenue, Orlando, FL 32818 (407-291-4816) with Pastor Mighty Officiating.

Interment will be immediately following the service at Winter Garden Cemetery, 13636 Lake Butler Blvd., Winter Garden, FL.

The Repast will be held immediately following the burial at the Solid Rock Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4955 Rose Avenue, Orlando, FL 32818
