Carmen Luz  Nieves Mateo
Carmen Luz Nieves, 72 of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Orlando, with her loving family by her side.

Carmen was born on March 4, 1944 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She was the daughter of the late Basilio Nieves and Flora (Baez) Nieves. Carmen was the loving wife to the late Ventura Matteo.

Carmen loved her family and was a nurturing and compassionate person. She lived in New Jersey and moved to Florida in 1992. She was a nurse for many years. Her passion was to help people; she became a chaplain and missionary. She was very talented at the art of crochet. She made many items for her family that now will be cherished.

She is survived by four children: Annette Andino, Edwin Andino, Lissette Andino and (Ramon) and Gilbert Andino and (Brenda) all of Orlando, Florida. Fifteen grandchildren: Crystal Salinas, Yamilex Andino, Adrice Andino, Reuben Damir Andino, Tatiana Andino, Marcelies Rose, Tanairy Andino, Naicha Andino, Bryan Andino, Elvin Andino, Kimberly Andino, Wesley Andino, Zuhailey Andino, Grissel Andino and Joshua Andino. Fifteen great-grandchildren, and five brothers and sisters: Maria, Anibal, Hector, Blanca and Angel Nieves.

The family will receive relatives from 6 pm to 7pm and friends from 7pm to 10 pm on Thursday, February 23, 2017 and from 10 am to 12 pm on Friday Christ is the Victory Church 2205 Forsyth Rd. Orlando, FL 32807 on Friday leaving church at 12pm for burial at Greenwood Cemetery 1603 Greenwood St, Orlando, FL 32801.
