Russell “Russ” Earl Johnson II

Born on May 11, 1964 in Columbus, OH. Died on August 8, 2018 in Orlando, FL after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Russ is survived by the love of his life, best friend and wife, Mardi Lieberman. He also leaves behind his beloved (damn) cat, Chessie.

Survivors also include his mother, Nyla Johnson of Carmel, IN; sisters, Jenny (Mike) Rundle of Carmel, IN, Sandy Johnson of Longwood, FL, Patsy (Bob) Brock of Logansport, IN, Anne (Pete) Slamkowski of Cincinnati, OH and countless nieces and nephews who adored him. He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Johnson of Carmel, IN.

Russ was a graduate of Carmel High School and Miami of Ohio University. He was admired by and will be missed by so many. His infectious laugh was known by everyone he encountered. A huge football fan, Russ rarely missed The Ohio State football games.

He loved anything that had to do with his beloved Buckeyes. At the time of death, Russ was working for Maddox Electric (formerly ERMCO of Florida) as a Project Manager/Estimator. His field of work allotted him several exciting opportunities which included construction of the Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, OH, the renovation of Soldier Field in Chicago, IL and Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Pandora in Orlando, FL.

A service will be held on Saturday August 18, 2018 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 4780 E 126th Street, Carmel, IN 46033. Visitation beginning at 10:00 am and a memorial service at 11:00 am.
