Obituary for Michael Allen Chandler

Michael Allen Chandler
9-14-1973 – 11-9-2018

Those who knew Mike, knew he was a free spirit; always following his own inclinations in spite of where they led. His tendency to trust in providence occasionally backfired on him, landing him in sticky situations. But he always came up smiling, positive and/or with another good story.

Mike spent 25 years in the construction business. He was trained at an early age in metal framing by a very good friend, who he often said “taught him right”. He took pride in his work, worked hard and worked well. He was respected by his co-workers and sought after and appreciated by those who hired him. His work took him to many states, and comprised the full spectrum of jobs both commercial and residential. He loved having the opportunity to travel, although he'd be the first to admit that North Dakota in the winter wasn't the smartest move. His old F150 saw him safely to jobs all up and down the eastern US. But he loved Florida best and his fingerprints can be found on many, many buildings throughout the state.

Mike was personable and friendly, getting along with everyone. He made friends everywhere he went, and stayed in touch with most of them no matter how far apart in distance or time. He valued friends, family and experiences over things. He had very few possessions. He was a rolling stone.

Mike passed away on Friday, November 9, peacefully in his sleep. He leaves behind his mother, Marsha, step-father, Jim, sister, Michelle, daughter, Emily, his father, Allen and many, many friends. He will be missed by all of us.
