Obituary for James George Rolandini

James G. Rolandini, 76, died peacefully at home on July 4, 2019 with his daughters by his side.

Son of the late Modesto Rolandini and Carmelia Allen he lived most of his life in West Springfield, Massachusetts.

He entered the Army Reserves in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1968. He graduated from Bentley College and Western New England College with degrees in accounting. He worked for Coopers and Lybrand then Meyers Brothers and Adeletti where he became a partner. He retired in 1996 and moved South, eventually finding his little piece of heaven in Clermont, Florida.

He volunteered at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital. An avid Red Sox fan, he was happy he got to see them win the World Series one last time. He enjoyed cheering his grandchildren on at their games and activities. As he became more bedridden he would cheer them on through social media. He also would follow sick children’s Facebook pages and send them cards of encouragement and stickers.

He leaves his daughters; Cindy Rolandini Rivera of Ocoee, FL., and Donna Sweeney (Joe) of Granby, Massachusetts. Four grandchildren: Timothy Sweeney, Hannah Rivera, Nicholas Rivera and Tessa Sweeney. His brother Bruce Allen and wife Betty, and Sister Dorothy.

He also leaves many nieces and nephews and his good friend and hospice aide Kim. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his Sister Caroline Bray.

As Dad requested, there will be no service. Donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, to which he was a monthly donor.

James arrangements are in the caring guidance of Winter Oak Funeral Home & Cremations, 1132 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL 34787.
