Some fond memories I have of Cynthia include our first meeting at Tildenville Elementary playground where she slapped me. This was due to the coming together of Avalon Elementary students with the students from Oakland Elementary in our Fifth Grade year. We became friends shortly after that. From there, we went to Lakeview Junior / Senior High, where she introduced me to my future husband John Ward. We graduated from West Orange High School. We attended Grad Night at Disney together with 2 piece matching outfits, very cute. After graduation from high school, through the first year of college , I married John Ward in December of 1978. I will not forget her statement to me on the day of the wedding, " You're leaving me...". This did not happen immediately, but later it did once we moved from Oakland, FL to Orlando then Jacksonville. Even the memories of singing in the Junior Choir at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, brings back good memories of our youth. Now, she is singing in the Heavenly Choir with the Angels. " Weeping may endure for the night, but there is Joy,Joy, Joy..." in the morning taken from one choir song we sang. Praise be to God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. With Love Always, Catherine Dumas Ward , 1977

Debra Gipson-Bridges What a beautiful memorable statement from Catherine. Cynthia was my first Cousin and your husband John is my second Cousin. We have so many memories of our beloved Cynthia, she's now resting in the Arms of Jesus.... No more pain, no more suffering, for the former things are past away! Joy on the other side. Forever in our hearts. Peace and Love ❤ Debra Gipson-Bridges - 1977
