Diane F. Bales 76, of Windermere, Florida passed away on August 1, 2019 at Cornerstone Hospice Care Center at Orlando Health.

Diane was born April 26, 1943 in Portland, Indiana the daughter of the late A. Dale Locker and Pauline Locker. She was the loving wife of Richard Bales until he passed in 2000.

Diane was raised on a farm outside Portland, Indiana and throughout her life loved tending her flower gardens and landscaping as a lifelong hobby. In 1973 the family moved from Indiana to Casselberry, FL and a year later to Windermere, FL. As her children grew older she worked primarily in the medical records field but she also loved to be a homemaker. She was resourceful and thrifty and always loved to find a good sale or coupon deal. She was a hard worker, always early to rise, keeping busy until relaxing at the TV at days end. In her later years she still loved to work in the yard and volunteered at Health Central hospital in Ocoee. Diane also adored animals, especially the family pets and the wild birds and rabbits who visited her yard.

Diane is survived by her 2 children, Laura Bales of Titusville, FL and Dean Bales of Windermere, FL; 1 brother Duane Locker of Richmond, IN; 1 niece Amy Arvin of Indianapolis, IN; and 1 nephew Tony Locker of Lafayette, IN.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Richard D. Bales.

A Visitation service will be held at Winter Oak Funeral Home and Cremations on August 6, 2019 from 9:00am to 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Resurrection Catholic Church at 11:00 am .

I was saddened to hear of Diane's passing yesterday. We became friends on the Endoscopy unit
of Health Central hospital. She never missed a day and always showed up with a smile on her face.
She worked hard and never left as long as there was work to be done. Diane was an integral part
of our team and she will surely be missed by all the staff.
I would see her at Publix almost weekly and we would talk about her gardening and family. She was
such a nice lady and I will miss her.
I am sorry for you loss.
