Obituary for Karl A Phillips

Karl Alphonso Phillips was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies on December 21, 1941. He was the first of four (4) children to the late Leonard and Violet Phillips. He received his early education at St. Aloysius Boys School in Kingston, Jamaica.

Karl migrated to England at an early age, where he continued his education that lead him to a career in Mechanical Engineering. He later relocated to Canada, where he continued in his field of work that he truly enjoyed.

With an obvious passion for his love of traveling and pursuing new adventures, he moved to New York, and worked there for several years. Here he met and married his devoted wife Beverley. They later moved to sunny Florida, where Karl continued to be gainfully employed as a machinist at Gencor Industries for twenty years, leading up to his unexpected passing on December 14, 2019.

Karl was perceived as a loyal and hardworking employee, loved and respected by management and co-workers alike.

He was an avid music collector. His hobbies included music, dancing, cycling, boxing and weight lifting. He received several awards, trophies and accolades. Karl will forever be remembered for his famous “ginger beer”.
Karl is preceded in death by his brother Leonard, Jr. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Beverley, sister Linda, brother Robert, nephews, extended family and many friends.
