Obituary for Eddie G Blankenship

Eddie Blankenship, loving husband and father, passed away at home on March 17, 2020, at the age of 83.

He was born April 15, 1936, in Abbeville, Alabama, to the late Myrtle and Warren Blankenship. He served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft controller spending three years of his tenure in Germany. In 1962 he left the Air Force and moved to Ocoee with his wife, Barbara and first born daughter Phyllis. After leaving the Air Force he went to work for Gulf Oil. He joined the USPS in 1972 and remained there until his retirement in 1998..

He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was known for his kindness and strong Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara, daughter, Phyllis Fisher, and husband Stan of Clermont, FL, son Steve Blankenship, and wife Lorena of Winter Garden FL, son Tom Blankenship, and wife Tracy of Ball Ground, GA, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday March 20, 2020 at 10 am, with service following at 11 am on Friday, March 20th, at Winter Oak Funeral Home, 1132 E Plant St, Winter Garden, FL 34787. His nephew, Pastor Dean Blankenship, will be officiating.
