Obituary for Jack Lee Sumner

Jack Lee Sumner, 88, of Windermere, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Advent Health South.

Jack was born on March 9, 1932 in Clinton, North Carolina. He is the son of the late Samuel Sumner and Romell (Wells) Sumner. Jack was the loving husband of Joyce (Blizzard) Sumner.

Jack is a veteran of the Korean War serving as a Military Police Officer in the Army.

Jack graduated from Massey Technical Institute in Jacksonville, Florida. Following graduation, he began working as an engineering technician with General Electric in Daytona Beach, FL where he had a 29 year career.
In his leisure time Jack enjoyed coaching recreational youth soccer which he did for many years. He had a love of cars and enjoyed restoring and maintaining his own vehicles. He was a hardworking man and a loving husband, father and friend.

Besides his wife, Joyce, he is survived by two children, Joy Sumner Hudson (Don) of Palm Harbor, FL and Jay Sumner of Windermere, FL and one grandson Carson Sumner of Windermere, FL. He is also survived by, one brother, Randy T Sumner of Huntsville, AL and one sister, Carolyn Naylor (Donnie) of Roseboro, NC, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Interment will be held at a later date taking place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery
