Obituary for Douglas Anthony "Tony" Elow
Douglas Anthony Elow was called to glory on May 10, 2020, to join his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, who preceded him in death. In his last days he was comforted by his family and friends.
Tony knew the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. He would always look forward to Bible Study every Thursday even when his phone was not working he would call his sister Denise to do a three way call to make sure he was included.
Born November 29,1957 to Harry Elow and Constance Elow in Harrisburg, PA. He attended John Harris High School and graduated in 1975. He went on to work for U.S. Air in Washington DC for over 14 years and was recognized and received the Care Bear Award for his honesty in returning a customer’s handbag, which she was so grateful to him. Then he continued on to Barber School and became known as the “barber”.
Tony loved all sports, but football was his favorite and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. You better not talk bad about those Cowboys, because he would sure let you have it. Tony had many talents. He was a DJ and was in a band, and he used to sing. He also used to draw. He was really good.
Tony always had jokes and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends. One of his famous sayings was he was the dominologist and no one could defeat him in dominoes. Tony married Serria McCollum on 10/11/99 with whom he had a beautiful daughter Adavia Elow, stepdaughter Avalier McCollum, and stepson Aris Foster.
You were a father, husband, son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. Tony is survived by his daughter Adavia Elow, wife Serria McCollum, mother: Constance Elow, three sisters: Denise Robinson (husband David), Pamela Parham (husband Darryl), Sharon Bartell, stepdaughter: Avalier McCollum, stepson: Aris Foster, two special aunts: Mable Summerford and Winnie Myers, uncles, and a host of nephews, nieces, grand kids, cousins, many other relatives and friends.
Death leaves a scar only God can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Although you are gone too soon, sleep well, Tony you will be deeply missed and assuredly not forgotten.
