Thomas W “Tom” Hynek June 14,1971-August 23, 2020

Tom Hynek was born June 14,1971 in Astoria NY to his loving mother Dolores.

From an early age Tom was always known as a “doubting Thomas” since he needed to find out
for himself how things worked and what was the best way to get anything done efficiently and

Graduating school couldn’t come fast enough, as he couldn’t wait to get out into the working
world, using his mind and his hands to tick those items off his bucket list. Tom always thought
of himself as a regular blue collar kind of guy but throughout his professional career he
influenced so many through training, coaching and just being a sympathetic ear to anyone who
needed it.

Besides the love and allegiance he had for his family and friends, Tom loved the NY Yankees and
Disney. His fondest memories were going to many baseball games with his Pop and his mom
and would share those stories with so many. Disney was a yearly vacation destination for him
and a lifelong dream to be able to move to Orlando and work within the Disney organization.
Tom’s tenacity and hard work paid off as his dream came true where he relocated to Orlando
and worked within the Disney theme parks.

Although Tom left us too soon, he managed to fulfill many of his dreams like meeting so many
Yankee baseball players, traveling to several destinations, and owning his first home.

Tom will be forever remembered as a kind, generous, quick witted and loving son, nephew,
cousin & friend. He truly touched so many lives without even realizing it. Tom will always hold a
special place in all our hearts.

~Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always
near. So Loved so missed so very dear~

Tom is survived by his loving mother Dolores, Aunt Dotty (aka Aunt Scrappy) cousins Donna,
Michael, Dawn, Mary, Peter along with several family members.

Tom's funeral arrangements are in the caring guidance of Winter Oak Funeral Home and Cremations,
1132 E. Plant Street Winter Garden, FL 34787

I met Thomas and his beautiful mother Dolores 6 years ago In Centereach, NY. He was such an amazing person, so friendly and caring. He was always quick to grab your groceries and help you to your door. I remember one wintery day in New York, he helped me shovel out my so that I could get to work. He was a true gentleman and I attribute that to his amazing mother. He loved her dearly and would do anything for her.

He had such a big heart as well. He took in a frightened little kitty and gave her a wonderful home. He adored her and would send me pictures of her all of the time. I got such a kick out of seeing them because he had such a wonderful sense of humor. He sent me one on Christmas Eve of “Kitty“ peeking into one of her presents. It made me laugh so hard because and I needed that. I missed the three of them when they moved to Florida but the pictures kept us close.

Thomas I will always remember you as a funny, hard working, devoted and caring person. Rest In Peace until we meet again.

I only knew Tom for a short time but loved every interaction we shared. Wished we had more time, but we come in and out of each other's lives for a reason. My heart and love goes out to Mom and the rest of Tom's family and friends. Blessings to all! Tom will be greatly missed, but his wonderful, funny spirit lives on!

Tom and I got along great from the moment we met through our mutual friend. We both had passions for Star Wars, Disney, and the NY Yankees. I only got to spend time in Tom’s company a few times but these times were memorable. We always laughed really hard. One of Tom’s greatest qualities was his love for his mom, they were more than a mother & son, they were best friends and it was amazing to see. God got another good one. Until we meet again Tom, Rest In Peace!

I don’t know we’re to start. We met about 6 years ago. When you were my asst manager at Modells, from that point on our friendship started. We would talk or text on a daily bases about anything and everything. You have been gone for only 2 days and I miss my friend. I miss the calls the texts and yes Tom I even miss you making fun of me not getting a haircut. We will see each other again one day and we will raise that glass like we were planning on doing. Watch over us all as you will never leave our thoughts or memories. Rest easy my friend until we meet again. ❤️🥃

I will always remember your infectious laugh and your love for when we got to do Star Wars land together and geek out. You told me a few days ago that you would walk around in a sith robe if you had the chance. Disney has lost a bright light in you! We will forever miss your smile!! And main street will miss your hugs!!!
