Thomas W “Tom” Hynek June 14,1971-August 23, 2020
Tom Hynek was born June 14,1971 in Astoria NY to his loving mother Dolores.
From an early age Tom was always known as a “doubting Thomas” since he needed to find out
for himself how things worked and what was the best way to get anything done efficiently and
successfully.
Graduating school couldn’t come fast enough, as he couldn’t wait to get out into the working
world, using his mind and his hands to tick those items off his bucket list. Tom always thought
of himself as a regular blue collar kind of guy but throughout his professional career he
influenced so many through training, coaching and just being a sympathetic ear to anyone who
needed it.
Besides the love and allegiance he had for his family and friends, Tom loved the NY Yankees and
Disney. His fondest memories were going to many baseball games with his Pop and his mom
and would share those stories with so many. Disney was a yearly vacation destination for him
and a lifelong dream to be able to move to Orlando and work within the Disney organization.
Tom’s tenacity and hard work paid off as his dream came true where he relocated to Orlando
and worked within the Disney theme parks.
Although Tom left us too soon, he managed to fulfill many of his dreams like meeting so many
Yankee baseball players, traveling to several destinations, and owning his first home.
Tom will be forever remembered as a kind, generous, quick witted and loving son, nephew,
cousin & friend. He truly touched so many lives without even realizing it. Tom will always hold a
special place in all our hearts.
~Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always
near. So Loved so missed so very dear~
Tom is survived by his loving mother Dolores, Aunt Dotty (aka Aunt Scrappy) cousins Donna,
Michael, Dawn, Mary, Peter along with several family members.
Tom's funeral arrangements are in the caring guidance of Winter Oak Funeral Home and Cremations,
