Obituary for Earl H Dyal

Earl Herbert Dyal, 91, of Winter Garden, Florida went to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 17th, 2020.

He was born July 15th, 1929 in Alma, Georgia. His parents were Earl Frances & Dorothy Mae Dyal.
On November 4th, 2020, Earl and Ruby Gay Dyal celebrated their 70th Anniversary of marriage. Earl is survived by his wife Ruby, his children Linda Watson of Leesburg, FL, Leonard Dyal of Glenn St. Mary’s, GA, Johnny Dyal (Leigh Ann) of Windermere, FL, Janice (Danny) Lemons of Eustis, FL, 13 grandchildren, 33 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, also siblings: John Dyal, Vernell Johnson and Vermell Roughton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Edmund, Delmas, Paul and sister Betty Ruth.
In his younger days he delivered newspapers and fish. He served in the US Army from 1952-1954 and was stationed in Austria and Germany. In 1955, Earl and Ruby moved to Florida where he was employed with Peterson Lumber Company and then Tyrees Appliance Service. He opened his own business, Central Florida Appliance where he worked with his son in law Jim Watson. He also worked as the Office Manager at Avery’s Tire & Auto Repair. After retiring, he worked with his brother Delmas at HF Masonry where they were well known by Winter Garden city employees as “The Old Guys.” Some of their work includes the Centennial Clock Tower in Downtown Winter Garden and the brickwork on the sidewalks throughout downtown. Earl and Ruby owned two homes during their married life. The first one in Fisherman’s Paradise being less than 1000 sq ft with their four children. Then moving to their present home of 58 years on Cypress Street in Winter Garden. He has spent the last 10 months staying with his daughters due to Ruby being in an assisted living facility.

Earl was a Christian at an early age. He and Ruby played the guitar and sang at Brush Arbors and church services. He was a Deacon at Warriors Home Church, a member of Crossroads Family Fellowship where his son in law and daughter pastored until 2016. This past year, he has attended Church at the Barn in Astatula, FL.

Most days you could find him sitting on his porch or watching the birds from his yard swing. His happy place was mowing on his John Deere. He loved all animals. He enjoyed fishing and boating with the boys. He loved attending and supporting his grands and great grands in all their sports activities. He was known for his wonderful smile, gentle soul and kindness. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on, Friday, November 20, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service starting at 11:00 am at Winter Oak Funeral Home, 1132 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL 34787, Burial immediately following the service at Winter Garden Cemetery, 13636 Lake Butler Blvd, Winter Garden, FL 34787.
