Obituary for Michael Leon Nelson
Michael L. Nelson, 63, of Winter Garden, Florida, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida.
Michael was born on May 21, 1957, in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late Waldo B. Nelson and Esther D. (Williams) Nelson. Mike was a loving and caring son and the youngest of twelve children.
He worked for many years in the meat department at Publix Supermarket and loved to do cooking demonstrations for the customers. He was a hardworking man and a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by six siblings: Patricia Welch of Warsaw, Indiana; Waldo (Butch) Nelson, Jr. of Marion, Indiana; Mary Andrews of Marion, Indiana; Joanna Branham of Ocoee, FL; James Nelson of Clermont, Florida; Rose Kendall of Eustis, Florida; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Ann (Pacenza), and five of his siblings: William, Robert, John, Lois (Southwick), and Karen (Ward).
Michael’s funeral arrangements are in the caring guidance of Winter Oak Funeral Home & Cremations, 1132 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, Florida, 34787.
Michael will be buried at sea. A small memorial plaque has been placed in the “Book of Remembrance” at Woodlawn Cemetery, Gotha Florida.
