Obituary for Joseph G Velkavrh
Joseph G. Velkavrh, of Orlando, FL, passed away on January 28th, 2021. Joseph was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Lockhart as a child. He graduated from Maynard Evans High School and entered the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Joseph worked for Reynolds Aluminum, Davis Meter and Hughes Supply during his career. He was a member of many organizations and served as an officer at the VFW.
He is survived by his companion of many years, Joanne Quillen, his sister Barbara Welch and brother-in-law, Kenneth Welch, niece Wendy Welch and spouse Edward, two nephews, Kenneth N. Welch and spouse Paulette and his great nephew Donovan Welch and great niece Brianne MacDonald and her husband Mathew, his nephew Jeffrey Welch and spouse Amita.
He was predeceased in death by his parents Joseph and Evelyn Velkavrh. His loving family and his many friends will remember him for his vast sports knowledge, his love of cruises and his genuine warmth for everyone. A memorial will be held at a later date due to the Covid restrictions.
