Our Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great-grandmother, Nancy Helen Fiorie, (Italian name Pancrazia meaning Grace) passed away on April 3, 2021 at the age of 93.
She was born on June 10, 1927 in the Bronx, NY to the late Carmela and Alfredo Interdonato. After working for Remington Rand for 10 years in New York City, she met the love of her life, Ralph J. Fiorie at the age of 27 years old. They were soon married on May 8, 1954 and had a loving, blessed marriage for 47 years. From then on, she dedicated the rest of her life to her family.
She passionately loved, cared for and served her husband, four children, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and all those in need. She genuinely took the time for each relationship in her life and selflessly gave of her time through her actions, words and deeds. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family, listening to Frank Sinatra music, and preparing one of her signature Italian dishes, such as stuffed artichokes, pasta e fagioli, spaghetti and meatballs and lentil soup. Up until she went to Heaven at 93 she was calling all family members via Siri on her phone, just to say I love you, and although she was only 5 feet tall, she will forever be remembered as our true Giant Sicilian Champion Matriarch of our family, the glue that kept us all together, and the prayer warrior for all.
She is survived by her son, Joe and daughter-in-law Lisa, daughter Gina and son-in-law Peter, and daughters Annemarie and Nancy. Her ten Grandchildren: Anthony, Jaclyn, Angela, Joey, Chris, Stephen, Christina, Nick, Ryan and Jack, and two Great-grandchildren: Eleanor and Marshall.
She led by example, teaching us how to lean on our faith for strength during difficult life experiences. She sustained an unwavering faith in her love for Jesus and the Blessed Mother, Mary. Over the past seven years, while enduring the highest level of physical and emotional challenges, she continued to pour love on each and every one of us. She was humble, selfless and filled with gratitude and grace. She will always be a remarkable inspiration to others and greatly loved and missed.
Nancy's favorite color was bright blue in honor of the Blessed Mother, Mary. The family will be wearing blue in her honor and you are welcome to wear blue as well.
