Obituary for Peter Kopansky
Peter Kopansky, 91, of Winter Garden, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
Pete was born on May 16, 1929 in Berkshire, New York on the family farm. He was pre- deceased by his brothers Stanley, Michael, John, and Edward.
Pete was the loving husband of Donna (Bruetsch) Kopansky for 72 years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed camping with his family. He was frequently on the sidelines for his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.
After retiring to Florida from Union Center, New York, he enjoyed playing golf with his son. On trips back north, he spent many hours helping his daughters with projects such as building fences, gates, and arbors, stone walls and steps, and anything else that needed to be done. He was also a master birdhouse builder.
In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by daughters Diane Ash and husband James of Whitefield, NH, Deb Price of Cadyville, NY, and son Kevin and wife Tenis of Orlando, FL, grandsons Josh Price and fiancée Jessica Cordes of Morrisonville, NY, Aaron Price and wife Tricia of Westfield, MA, Nathan Price and wife Julia of Scottsville, NY, Lazer Kopansky of Burnsville, MN and Dimitri Kopansky of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Kaitlin, Zachary, Kristiana, Jonathan, Luke, and Emily, sisters-in-law Carmen Kopansky of Johnson City, NY, Joyce Kopansky of Vestal, NY and many loving nieces and nephews.
