On July 15, 2021, surrounded by a loving family, Michael Scott Clay was healed of cancer as he entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born in Monroe, LA on May 9, 1956, Scott spent his childhood developing an appreciation for family, friends, service, hard work, and Cajun food. As a young man, he worked with his father, Tackett, building and resurfacing bowling alleys. Later, Scott furthered his career in the construction industry with new home builds.
In the late 70’s, Scott won the love and affection of Linda, and was blessed in marriage with three children: Christy, Daniel, and Robby.

Moving to Central Florida in 1980, Scott continued working in construction, and with his phenomenal work ethic, became a manger with Engle Homes.

With a heart for service, and a talent for music, Scott served as the worship leader at Radiant Life. A man with varied interests, he also pursued the art of photography and computer programing. In Scott’s final years, he worked as a claims adjuster in the insurance field.

Scott is survived in life by his wife of 43 years, Linda, his children, Christina (Brett), Daniel (Krysta), and Robert (Cathy), his mother, DeJuana, his grandchildren, Ryley, Asher, Preston, August, and Lennon, and his siblings, Bobby, Lydia (Rick), Dee Dee (Steve), Theresa (Fred), Robert (Kathy), Chuck (Trish), and Robby. In addition, he is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.

Scott's arrangements are in the caring guidance of Winter Oak Funeral Home and Cremations

I have to share a memories with you. When Scott was two, Al and i made a trip to visit DeJuana and family. That evening late we loaded the car to go visit other family members. Scott insisted on standing up in the front seat between Al and I (there were no seat belts at that time). All the adults were smoking so Scott said, "I wanna moke". Being the uncle Al was, he lit a cigarette and gave it to Scott. Poor baby sucked on the cigarette and passed out cold for a minute. I thought DeJuana was going to have a heart attack. Then Scott babbled something at Al and threw the cigarette at Al. I think he was pretty mad. Then Scott climbed into my lap, hugged my neck, looked at me and said, "I luv you" and went to sleep". So precious. I have a few more special memories of Scott. He was such a beautiful little boy. We didn't get to spend much time with Al's family but I have lots of wonderful memories of each one of them. I feel so honored to be a member that special family. My heart hurts for you all at this time but I am certain I will see Scott again. Praise God what a reunion we shall have. Love and prayers to each and every one of you. Love, Aunt Margaret Wallace
