Obituary for Michael Scott Clay

On July 15, 2021, surrounded by a loving family, Michael Scott Clay was healed of cancer as he entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born in Monroe, LA on May 9, 1956, Scott spent his childhood developing an appreciation for family, friends, service, hard work, and Cajun food. As a young man, he worked with his father, Tackett, building and resurfacing bowling alleys. Later, Scott furthered his career in the construction industry with new home builds.
In the late 70’s, Scott won the love and affection of Linda, and was blessed in marriage with three children: Christy, Daniel, and Robby.

Moving to Central Florida in 1980, Scott continued working in construction, and with his phenomenal work ethic, became a manger with Engle Homes.

With a heart for service, and a talent for music, Scott served as the worship leader at Radiant Life. A man with varied interests, he also pursued the art of photography and computer programing. In Scott’s final years, he worked as a claims adjuster in the insurance field.

Scott is survived in life by his wife of 43 years, Linda, his children, Christina (Brett), Daniel (Krysta), and Robert (Cathy), his mother, DeJuana, his grandchildren, Ryley, Asher, Preston, August, and Lennon, and his siblings, Bobby, Lydia (Rick), Dee Dee (Steve), Theresa (Fred), Robert (Kathy), Chuck (Trish), and Robby. In addition, he is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.
