Obituary for Keith E. Thornbloom
Keith Ernest Thornbloom, 67, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2021 in Winter Garden, Florida. He was born on December 3, 1953 in Rockford, IL to the late Ernest O. Thornbloom and the late Beryl (Beck) Thornbloom.
As a young boy he moved to New Milford, NJ, where he developed a love for boating on the rivers. Keith graduated from New Milford High School in 1971 and moved to Florida to attend the University of Florida where he studied engineering. Afterwards he moved to Miami, FL to pursue his love of boating and to live near the ocean. He obtained his captain's license and worked in Mexico for over 20 years as a sea captain and yacht engineer. Keith was a loving father and grandfather; a passionate world traveler; cook and an amazing jack-of-all-trades that was able to fix anything.
Keith is survived by his daughter Erica Reed, her husband Tim Reed Jr. and their children; his son Kevin Thornbloom-Elorza and his wife Sai Wade; his children’s mother, Jan Thornbloom-Elorza and a multitude of wonderful friends that were like family to him. A celebration of life will be held in late 2021.
