Phil was a faith filled, loving husband, father & friend. He was raised by his parents in Malden, MO and relocated to St. Louis, MO where he would meet Susan Nagel, in his High School art class and marry her three years later.

Phil went to college for Mechanical Engineering, and was drafted into the army a month after his wedding, at the age of 20. In the Army, he was an infantry trained mortarman who fought in front line combat while serving his country as part of the 22nd Infantry Regiment during the Vietnam War, and thankfully returned home to become a father to 4 children. His career began working in the mechanical engineering field for 3 years and he then co-owned a truck leasing business while co-owning and operating the St. Louis International Raceway. In 1980, he relocated his family to Whichita, Kansas where he operated the Wichita International Raceway.

In 1984, they relocated to Central Florida to be close to family, which is where Phil became a High School Auto Mechanics Teacher at OHS for 16 years. Phil and Sue raised their family in St.Cloud, FL for 14 years, and then relocated to Winter Garden, FL in 2005. Phil accepted the role of COO of the family vacation home company in Kissimmee, FL and retired in 2017.

He was a well loved and respected man, who lived to help at any chance he could, and always came to a problem with a solution. He had a great sense of humor and could tell a story like no other. He was a sincerely kind, talkative, intelligent, faith filled, loving, funny and compassionate person and as Christians we will miss him deeply, until we meet again in Heaven.
