Aixa Magalis Fonseca Mojica, 57, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.
Aixa was born on July 20, 1964 in Caguas, Puerto Rico. She is the daughter of Teresita Mojica Aponte and Esbeban Fonseca Marcano.
Everyone who knew Aixa (her nickname being Maggie), instantly fell in love with her witty, sassy, and selfless personality. She would be the first to take care of others, before herself, and fully devoted her life to God. Although her life had its many struggles, Aixa went through every obstacle and challenge with a beautiful and radiant smile on her face. This inevitably brought a special light to the world and left an irreplaceable mark on those who were a part of her life.
Aixa was a middle school teacher for many years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She valued and devoted herself to her education and her students. She took care of them and helped them transition into high school with the skills and morals needed to build character and a love for learning. She continued her studies and received a master’s degree in Urban Education. In addition to being a professional and hard-working woman, she was also an exceptional mother. She took great pride in raising her two sons, Pedro and Javier, and made sure that they were raised to become the well-rounded and kind-hearted men they are today. She also took care of her beautiful mother Teresita, as they lived together and enjoyed each other’s company.
Furthermore, Aixa had a special love for cooking (especially baking). She blessed the mouths of many, as she prepared delicious meals, cakes, and pastries for all of her friends and family. She always dreamed of having her own little café/bakery where she could share her recipes and love for food with all those around her. She loved to travel, have fun, make friends, and enjoy the simple things in life.
Her remarkable spirit continues on in the lives of all those that she crossed paths with.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a funeral mass at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at All Souls Historical Chapel, 800 S. Oak Avenue, Sanford, FL 32771. All are welcome to join in the celebration of her life through this mass.
Aixa’s funeral arrangements are in the caring guidance of Winter Oak Funeral Home and Cremation, 1132 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL 34787.
