Obituary for Donald C. "Don" Manley Jr.

Donald C. Manley, Jr., 78 of Gotha, Florida, passed away at home unexpectedly on Thursday, May 12th, 2022.

Don was born on August 14th, 1943, in the town of Battle Creek, Michigan. He moved to Orlando, Florida with his parents at the age of ten. He is the son of the late Donald C. Manley, Sr. and Betty (Boughneer) Manley. Don was a loving husband of 58 years to Linda (Smith) Manley.

Don was an Engineering Specialist at Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) for the majority of his career. After retiring from OUC, he was a Coordinator at Florida Electrical Apprenticeship and Training (F.E.A.T.) where he taught and counseled electrical students for many years. He enjoyed teaching, barbequing, working in the yard, Costco trips, and spending time with and taking care of his wife and family. Everyone who knew Don would tell you he was a kind and helpful person; someone you could always count on. He was deeply loved and will be truly missed.

Besides his loving wife, Linda; he is survived by two children, Scott Manley of Groveland, FL and Shelley McArdelle and husband Brian of Ocoee, FL, two grandchildren, Brittney (D’Alessandro) Romaine and husband Matthew of Minneola, Florida and Tony D’Alessandro of Orlando, Florida and one great-grandchild, Carter D’Alessandro.

The family will have a celebration of Don’s life at a later date.
