Obituary for Edward Spikoski

On Monday July 25th, Edward Steven Spikoski passed peacfully in his sleep surrounded by his family and animals at his daughters home in Windermere FL.

Edward was born on October 7th 1943, in New York City, NY. Ed was the oldest son to the late Edward George Spikoski and Filomina Oddo Spikoski. He enjoyed a happy childhood in New York with his two brothers Michael and Peter Spikoski.

Ed was the loving husband of 36 years to the late beautiful, Jennifer Hughes Spikoski. He will be truly missed by all, especially by his daughter Susan Elizabeth Morrison, son Steven Mark Spikoski and their families.

Mr. Spikoski was a dedicated executive with IBM for 37 years, enjoying many advancements throughout his career. Ed also served his country with extreme pride as a Marine during the Vietnam war.

His heart was huge and his love for animals was incredible; dedicated to helping all kinds. He loved volunteering at Dream Catcher Horse Rescue. Caring for the animals in need that rescued Ed himself, from the pain of losing his beloved wife. He was more than a volunteer at Dream Catcher and became a member of their beautiful family, never missing a holiday. Edward will be reunited with his furry and feathered friends over the rainbow bridge. I can feel the celebration as he is reunited with his wife and furry friends. The animals he left behind are Ricco The parrot, Dutch the dog, Max his horse, and his beautiful donkey Coco which have all found FUR-ever homes. Coco may have helped in the crossing of the bridge with a wonderful visit by her baby Ed, the donkey who was born at the same time that Edward passed. One would like to think that they met each other in transition.

Family and friends are planning a celebration of his life with military honors on August 9th, at 6:00pm, at Dream Catcher Horse rescue in Clermont, FL.

Ed's final wishes were for all to wear their favorite colors at the celebration of his life.

Ed's funeral arrangements will be in the caring guidance of Winter Oak Funeral Home and Cremations.
