Obituary for Manuel D. Martins
Manuel D. Martins, 82, of Winter Garden, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 28, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Manuel was born in Criacao Velha Azores Portugal. He is the son of the late Manuel and Filomena (Oliveira) Martins. Manuel was the loving husband of 57 years to Auria (Nunes) Martins. He immigrated to the U.S. with his wife in 1966 settling in Ludlow, Massachusetts working in the manufacturing field as a machinist. Manuel enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, and reading, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. After retiring from American Saw Manufacturing, Manuel and his wife moved to Florida in 2004.
Besides his loving wife, Auria, he is survived by his only daughter Elizabeth “Lisa” Vaz, and husband Carlos, of Winter Garden, FL. Cherished granddaughter Kathryn Vaz of Los Angeles, CA., his sister Maria Roberto of Fresno, CA. Godsons Robert Costa and Paul Roberto and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing from 9:00AM-10:45AM on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Winter Oak Funeral Home, 1132 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL. The service will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church at 11:00AM with a burial immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery in Gotha, FL with a reception following at Cariera’s Fresh Italian Restaurant, 1041 S. Dillard Street, Winter Garden, FL.
