Obituary for William "Bill" Goddu
William “Bill” Goddu, 95, of Windermere, Florida, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 3,
2022, at the Cornerstone Hospice Care Center at Health Central with his loving family by his side.
Bill was born on March 9, 1927, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He is the son of the late Lewis Goddu and
Julia (Pieger) Goddu. Bill is predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia “Pat” (Johnson) Goddu.
Bill graduated from Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in 1945. He served his
country during World War II in the United States Navy as an Aviation Radioman Third Class. He received
an Honorable discharge earning the American Theatre and Victory Medals. Bill graduated from the
Connecticut State Police Academy in 1954 and worked within the Public Safety Division as a State
Trooper and Sergeant with the State of Connecticut Police Department Troop F in Westbrook.
Bill retired from the Connecticut State Police Department in 1979 and relocated to Orlando, Florida,
with his family. Post-retirement, Bill worked as a Security Guard with Orlando Regional Medical Center
and retired in 1993. He was a Life Member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Westbrook
Elks Lodge #1784. Bill was a Legacy Member of the Blake at Hamlin senior living community in Winter
Garden, Florida.
Bill is survived by his three children, Robert Goddu, of Saint Cloud, FL, Marci Dial, and husband, (Glenn)
of Windermere, FL, and Shari Bryan, and fiancée Kevin Cole, of Saint Cloud, FL. His grandchildren,
Cassondra (Bryan) Jackson and husband, Nicholas, Dylan Bryan, Ashley (Bryan) Moody, all of North
Carolina, Alexander Dial, of Florida, his great-grandchildren, Liam and Wyatt Moody, and Mason and
Noah Jackson, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Bill’s Funeral arrangements are under the caring guidance of Winter Oak Funeral Home & Cremation,
