Obituary for Edgar L Skinner, Jr.

Edgar Skinner Jr. of Hancock, NY passed away Saturday, Sept 17th, in his home in Winter Garden, FL after a long illness, with his family in Florida at his side.

Edgar was born July 19, 1943, in Hancock, NY and was the son of the late Edgar Skinner and Lorna Skinner (Felter). Edgar was the husband of 53 years to the late Clare Skinner (Homer).

Edgar was a long time Logger in the Delaware County area and served several years as a Shop Steward with Teamsters Union, where he retired. He graduated from Hancock Central School in 1960. His interests were Golf, LA Dodger Baseball, NASCAR Racing (Fords only), NY Giants Football and above all else his family. Ed was long time coach in youth Little League and American Legion Baseball producing several championship teams. Eddie worked hard his whole life to provide for his family and was admired by all his family and friends for his generosity and helpfulness.

Edgar is survived by his son Mark Skinner and his wife Lynn Skinner of Winter Garden, FL and Eric Skinner, of Binghamton, NY. Also, his grandchildren Harlee Kramer of Binghamton, NY, Andrew Skinner of Milwaukee, WS, and Alex Skinner of Buckhannon, WV, as well as a Great Grand Daughter Claire Kramer. Also, Gina Skinner of Hancock, NY, and William Kauffman of East Branch along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Edgar was predeceased by his Wife Clare Skinner, Father Edgar Skinner, Mother Lorna Skinner, and Sisters Linda Kauffman, and Judy Smith.

The family will welcome relatives and friends to a Celebration of Life in the Hancock area at a time and location to be determined in the coming weeks.
