Obituary for Christopher David Scott

Christopher David Scott was born November 22, 1958 to Frances and George Scott in Washington D.C. Christopher grew up in Maryland and was the 3rd child in a family of 5 children. As the middle child the only way he could get any attention was to be the “family clown”, providing laughter for all. At a very young age Christopher made Jesus Lord and his life and his love for the Lord was evident in every area of his life. He was completely devoted to studying his Bible and never missing church. Christopher spent his youth enjoying every kind of sport and church activities and became a huge fan of the Washington Redskins.

After college, Christopher pursued construction management and spent his entire career working in the construction industry. Through the years he worked on large scale projects including the 1996 Olympic Stadium, the Atlanta Arena, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Orlando International Airport, Lakeside Village in Lakeland, Yacht Haven & Marriott Frenchmen’s Cove in St.Thomas and also built multiple schools, churches and smaller scale construction projects. Everyone who met him immediately fell in love with his gentle nature, which was a rarity in construction, and staffers often followed him to multiple assignments saying he was the best boss they ever had.

In 1980, Christopher married Rachel, the love of his life, and they were married 42 years. Together, they raised 8 children and now have 12 grandchildren. For years, Rachel faithfully homeschooled while Christopher worked. They were a great team and enjoyed many years living in Windermere Fl where they spent time with their children boating, going to the beach, enjoying the theme parks and pursuing the Florida lifestyle. Christopher had a quick wit. He was always cracking jokes and not taking life to seriously. His lighthearted outlook was refreshing and his devotion and loyalty to the Lord and his family was his hallmark. He simply loved God and loved being the father of a large family.

Christopher is pre-deceased in death by his father George and is survived by this wife Rachel, son Shawn, daughter Ashley, daughter Heather, daughter Courtney, son Judah, daughter Destiny, daughter Haven, son Leviticus, mother Frances, brother Art, brother Ben, brother Dale, and sister Caroline. The family will hold a memorial service November 12th at 11:00 am at Glad Tidings Assembly, Ocoee, Fl.

Christopher's funeral arrangements are in the caring guidance of Winter Oak Funeral and Cremations,
