Obituary for Robert "Bob" Lerch

Robert Lerch, 74, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in Orlando, Florida.

Robert was born on June 26, 1948, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late Robert Clark Lerch and Helen (Balaban) Lerch. Robert was the loving husband of 52 years to Colleen (Kush) Lerch.

Robert graduated from South Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA in 1966. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Robert then served in the US Marine Corps from 1968 until 1970. Later, he held sales positions within The Seagram Company, Maryland Precision Spring Company, and AGL Lasers.

In addition to being a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend, Robert had an abiding love of golf. He played thousands of rounds worldwide with family, friends, and strangers alike. His passion for the game, and of its famous courses, players, and competitions, never waned.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; his two sons, Ehren Lerch, of Leland, North Carolina, and wife, Heather (Lilly) Lerch; Jacob Lerch, of Apex, North Carolina, and wife, Carrie (Brundage) Lerch; and his three granddaughters, Lilly Lerch, Audrey Lerch, and Vivien Lerch; his sister, Janice (Lerch) Cady, her husband, Jim Cady; his brother, John Lerch, his wife, Jane (Gilliam) Lerch; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
