Obituary for Dale Wools

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dale Jeffery Wools, 72 on November 14, 2022. Dale was born on November 4, 1950, to Raymond and Irmal Wools in Linton, Indiana. The youngest of 5 siblings, he grew up loved, teased, and healthy, playing baseball and fanatically following IU basketball. He moved to Florida in 1987, eventually settling in Apopka and later in Orlando with is wife, Sammie. Across the vast miles, he remained close at heart with his brothers Don and Dick, and sisters Alicia and Linda. Most holidays would find some combination of these siblings and their spouses telling tales around the table; playing cards and surprising each other with a certain wooden duck. Dale being the baby brother, was always right in the thick of the joking and laughter and loved nothing more than spending time at family gathering regaling everyone with tales of lost and well spent youth.

He worked at Old Ben Coal Company in Indiana and as an electrician for 25 years in Florida. AS A member of Strake Lake Baptist Church for 11 years, he served on the Board of Trustees, supporting his church, making friends a being a friend.

Dale follows his parents Raymond and Irmal, as well A his beloved older brother, Colonel Richard “Dick” Wools, (USAF retired), into eternal peace. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sammie Powell Wools; brother Donald (Marylin) Wools; his siters, Alicia (Harold) Privett and Linda (Dennis) Scott. His children, Joel (Detty), Annah Grace and Noah Wools, Larry (Heather) White, and Margie (Warren) Lewis, as well as his grandchildren, Justin and Keira Wools, Alex and Samantha White, and Savanna and Clay Lewis. Additionally, he leaves behind innumerable cousins, nieces and nephews, and one sad wooden Mallard.
