Obituary for Teddy Paul "Ted" Jennings
Teddy Paul "Ted" Jennings, 77, of Winter Garden, FL, formerly of Crestwood, IL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 21, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones.
Ted was born August 6, 1945 in Springfield, IL to the late Terry and Geraldine (nee Henderson) Jennings. He spent most of his childhood living above the family funeral home in Mason City, IL where he made many lifelong friends.
Ted was an avid student and earned numerous degrees and attended many colleges. He was an attorney in Oak Forest, IL where his private practice focused on real estate. He enjoyed traveling with his family, visiting Disney Parks, coaching youth soccer, researching genealogy and enjoying nature.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda (nee Fawkes); children, Aimee (Alexius) Cornelio, Jeffrey (Amy) Jennings, Kimberly (Peter) Chronos, and Mark Jennings; grandchildren, Brittany (Jason) Kolanda, Alexi Cornelio, Theodore Chronos, Ava Jennings, Marissa Chronos and Gavin Jennings; great-grandchildren, Andrew Jennings and Grayson Kolanda; brothers-in-law, Russell (Marlene) Fawkes and Richard (Dawn) Fawkes; sisters-in-law, Joanne (James) Spellman, Melanie Fawkes, and Deborah McDonough; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Andrew Fawkes; mother-in-law, Gwendolyn Fawkes (nee Russell); sister, Jalna (Errol) Probasco; and brothers-in-law, Andrew Fawkes and Thomas Fawkes.
Per Ted’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at Salem United Church of Christ 9717 S. Kostner Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL 60453 on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11 am. The family will begin accepting visitors at 10 am.
