Obituary for Kathleen S. Kirby
Kathleen (Kay) S. Kirby passed away the evening of April 12, 2023.
Kay, known to many friends as Kate, was born July 11, 1937, in Beverley, Yorkshire, UK, where she grew up with her 2 sisters Barbara and Hazel in their parents’ home. Kay moved to London in 1958 where she lived and worked until 1976 when she moved to the USA with her son Kevin.
Kate married Howard (Howie) Kirby in June 1984. Howie passed away on November 5, 2011. Kay left Volusia County, where she and Howie had lived for many years, and moved to Ocoee, Orange County, where she lived for years to be close to family. Then last year she moved to Tavares in Lake County to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law, and sister Hazel.
Kay is survived by son Kevin, Grandchildren Allen and Kathy, Great Grandchildren Allison, Christian, Jacob, Brielle, Braylynn and Annika, Stepsons Michael and Brandon and step Granddaughter Erin. Also, by family members Shirley, Jennifer, Susan, and Greg.
It is Kay’s wish that she be cremated and her ashes, together with Howie’s, be scattered at sea in a private memorial with their family.
