Obituary for Garry C. Hogan

Garry C. Hogan, 73, of Rochester, New York passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 in Orlando, Florida.

Garry was a Rochester native, the youngest of Frank and Amy Hogan’s eight children. He was a graduate of James Madison high school and Monroe community college. Garry was an army veteran and retiree of the Rochester fire department.

Garry is predeceased by his parents, brothers John Hogan & James Hogan, sisters Margaret (Michael) Coyle, & Patricia (Carl) Mannillo, brother-in-law Thomas Latin. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Tina Latin Hogan, daughter Erin Hogan, sister Dolores (James) West, Brothers Robert Hogan & David (Sharon) Hogan, sisters-in-law Gina (John) Whittman and Louise (David) Farley, Brother-in-law Joseph Latin, many nieces, nephews, great & great-great nieces and nephews.

Garry enjoyed spending time with his four legged friends, including his beloved pug companion Bugsy. Prior to his long battle with COPD he liked golfing, making home improvements and being in the company of friends. In retirement he made his home in Florida during the winters, soaking up the sunshine.

A memorial will be planned in Rochester at a later date with interment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung association, to help smokers quit earlier, or to some of his favorite animal charities, The Humane society at Lollypop farm & The Pug Queen.
