Obituary for Morton W. Luebbert III

Morton William Luebbert III, the eldest son of Morton William Luebbert Jr, and Lorraine Stith Luebbert, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, in Winter Garden, Florida. He had been ill for some months. His passage was peaceful, surrounded by his family who loved him.

He was born November 6, 1944, in Saint Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Kirkwood High School, and received his undergraduate degree in Business and Economics from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis and his Master’s in Business Administration, Finance, from the Florida Institute of Technology.

After service in the military, Mort worked in the aeronautics industry for many years, first for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, and then, in Florida, for Boeing and Lockheed Martin. After aeronautics, he supervised the building of the Epcot Geodesic Dome and the mag-lev trains at Walt Disney World, the Blue and Green Diamond Twin Towers in Miami Beach, Florida, and other construction projects throughout the state of Florida.

Mort has two remarkable children, Timothy K. Luebbert and Kellie J. Hartman, Tim’s fiancé Caitlin Dunn and Kellie’s husband Cody Hartman, and two grandchildren, Tristan and Emma. He is survived by two younger brothers, Michael K. Luebbert (born on the same day as Mort but eight years later), Scott W. Luebbert, and a sister, Maria Luebbert.

Please remember Mort with some thoughts of the good times you shared with him, his intelligence, and his wonderful sense of humor.

Mort’s memorial service will be at the Winter Oak Funeral Home & Cremations in Winter Garden, Florida, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 4:00 pm.
