Ronald F. Romano, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at his home in Florida on Monday, August 24, 2026. A respected and dedicated Funeral Director, Ronald devoted much of his life to serving families and his community.

Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late Pio A. Romano, Sr. and Eva (Parrillo) Romano. Ronald was a graduate of the New England Institute of Anatomy & Mortuary Science and earned his Bachelor's degree from Bryant College.

Together with his brothers, Ronald was a co-owner and funeral director of Romano Funeral Home in Providence, Rhode Island, and Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home in Warren, Rhode Island, where he proudly served generations of families until his retirement and move to Florida.

Throughout his life, Ronald was actively involved in numerous religious, civic and community organizations. He believed deeply in giving back to the communities he called home. He was also passionate about travel, with a particular love for Italy and exploring the many countries and cultures of Europe.

Ronald took great pride in his Italian heritage and played an integral role in the creation of Pontecorvese Square and Monument in the Silver Lake section of Providence, honoring the heritage and contributions of his family and the Italian-American community.

He will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Raymond Romano and his wife, Nancy, of Warren, Rhode Island, along with several nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was the brother of the late Pio A. Romano, Jr. and Stephen R. Romano.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ronald's memory to St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence, RI 02909.

The Mass of Christian Burial and interment will be private.

Ronald's funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and guidance of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Cranston, Rhode Island, and Winter Oak Funeral Home, Winter Garden, Florida.
