Obituary for Pedro Elias Hernandez

Pedro Elias Hernandez
Pedro Elias Hernandez, 82 of Pembroke Pines, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2:53pm in Orlando,FL surrounded by his loving family.

Elias as he was known was born on May 10, 1934 in the Dominican Republic, the son of the late Ramon Hernandez and Maria Eloisa Nunez. Elias was the loving husband to Digna Altagracia Reyes.

Elias was a business owner in the Communications industry for many years. Elias loved his family, he was a very hardworking man and a loving husband, father, brother and friend.

RIP, Knight of the old code...

Very few people knew Elias, very few people are left in the world like him. Elias Hernandez was a man of Integrity and determination. He passed today surrounded by people dearest to him. As Elias upheld his ideals, he lost many friends, and gained very few. Providing and protecting his three daughters was his up-most important oath.

Elias was born in Dominican Republic, a third world country with very limited resources. Elias was raised by his mother, who worked hard to feed her three children. At an early age, Elias was diagnosed with Polio. The disease atrophy his legs and hands and made him disabled. Doctors said he will need aid to walk, and even write. Against faith, he pushed himself and got the attention of General Trujillo, which paid for his surgeries that allowed him to walk unassisted, but left him crippled. Even at the age of 82, he refused to walk assisted until his health deteriorated. Elias had no time for pity, as he took it upon himself to help his mother and two brothers to bring income for the whole family. He study very hard to become someone. Among his ventures, he founded an electronics business which specialized in selling 2-way Radios to businesses and government.

Elias was very loved by family, as he sacrificed all for the ones in need. When his older brother died, he took care of his nephews, educated them, and gave them a fighting chance in a world where no education was synonymous to failure.

Elias sacrificed all that he had to make sure his Family lived prosperous. He did not mind living in a small apartment, as long as his daughters had the best he could provide.

Elias, we were blessed to have you. We will do our best to uphold your oath. We love you, Rest In Peace, knight of the old code.

Besides his loving wife Digna Altagracia Reyes of Pembroke Pines, Fl. he is survived by three daughters: Maria Eloisa Uribe, Pembroke Pines, FL., Elia Margarita Marenco of Winter Garden, FL and Catherine Isabel Martinez of Windermere, FL. Five grandchildren: Francisco A. Marenco and Angelica E. Marenco of Winter Garden, FL., Jose A. Uribe, Sebastian Uribe and Miranda Uribe of Pembroke Pines, FL.
