Michael Palma, 66, of Orlando, Florida Passed away Peacefully on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 in his home.
Michael was born on November 15th, 1954 in Dansville, NY the son of the late Michael and Joan Palma(Recooper).

Michael was survived by his three children, Michael Palma Jr(45) of Winter Garden, Fl, Jason Palma(43) of Orlando, Fl, Nicholas(41) and Elixmar Palma of Winter Garden, Fl. He is also survived by his 4 Grandson’s, Ryan(17), Vinci(14), Michael(13), Kaiden(9) all of Winter Garden, Fl. Michael was know as Grandpa Champion, he was given that name by his eldest grandson at the age of 3 and that has been his name till this day. Michael was also survived by the mother and step father of his children Jim and Sarah Sickles(DioGuardi). Michael was predeceased by his sister Cindy Palma of Cape Coral, Fl, he was survived by siblings all of which reside in Mt.Morris, NY, Michelle Coniglio , Tim and Christine Howe(Palma) Mark Palma, and Paul Palma and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was veteran of Vietnam war. For his service, he earned the Marksmanship badge, National Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 star. He served honorably in the Marine Corp. His time in the Marines instilled a strong patriotic love for his country that stayed with him throughout his life. Michael was a loving father and grandfather, and a firm believer in Christ.

When he left the Marines he started his career with the NY state union for carpentry. When Michael Moved to Florida He started his own small business which helped a lot of people turn houses into homes.

Michael had many passions in life, especially his family. Michael coached many sports for his kids and grandkids, his favorite sport to coach was baseball, seeing his grandson Michael grown into the young stud he is hitting home runs and winning little league championships was one of his greatest things for him to watch(you always knew our dad was at the game no matter where you were sitting cause he was loudest person in the stands!) he also coached ymca basketball for his grandkids which he also loved to do. To know our dad was to love him, he had a huge heart and a passion to help others, No matter the time or distance he would go and help anyone in need.(although he complain the whole time) Our dad had a strong bond with animals, if ever have seen him with Bella(his dog) or Buster(Nicks dog) you would be amazed with the bond they shared. Our dad was a sports fanatic, there wasn’t a sport he didn’t enjoy watching. He was an Orlando Magic season ticket holder, loved to go to the Daytona 500 and loved the Tampa bay rays and The Buffalo Bills. Our dad was a avid poker player who enjoy our weekly poker game at his house, with many friends(Kelley, Felipe, Joe F, Steven, Johnny, Murphy, Penny, Todd, Taz, and many others. You may not have seen him, but….. you definitely heard him coming on his Harley!! The passion he had for Harley’s was second to none. He loved his rides with Michael Jr and Ivanhoe amongst others, and many bike week and Harley events. Our dad road his bike the way he lived, Hard and Fast and he did it the way he wanted, aviators on music blasting and hair blowing in the wind. Last but definitely not least was our Sunday Football and Dads famous Sunday sauce that always brought the family together.

Our family would like to thank some very special people who had a big impact in our dads life, Tracey Loverde, Matt Helmling, Joe Fernandez, Michael Scorsone, Omar Lorven, and Danny Garcia.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2pm-5pm on Saturday, January 9th at Winter Oak Funeral Home.
